Paver Care

Paver and Deck Cleaning

Paving stones and brick are used to pave multiple surfaces around your home including driveway, patio, garden, walkway, and sidewalks.

If pavers are not maintained properly you run the risk of staining, fading, loss of joint sand, pests, and the possibility of weed and mildew growth.

Pavers are bound to lose their luster over time. The only way to slow this process down is through proper maintenance.  This includes regularly cleaning the pavers, sanding the joints, and sealing.

Our Paver Care Process

Cleaning pavers properly insures the surface is free of all dirt, oil, grease, paint, or stains. and old sealer that may cause a problem during the curing process.  Also, any efflorescence will need to be treated prior to sealing.

paver washing and paver sealing

The first step in the sealing process is to remove any obstructions. This includes all outdoor furniture, potted plants, and anything that may get in the way of cleaning. It’s also important to cover any delicate nearby landscaping.

We use a variety of cleaning methods to insure the pavers are properly cleaned and prepped prior to applying sealer. During the cleaning process, all mold, moss, and weeds from inside the joints will be removed.

Once the pavers have dried out completely we will apply sand to the joints.  We use joint-stabilizing sand that will lock in once the sealer is applied. Ensuring the sand is applied correctly will help mitigate weed growth and also creates difficulty for insects trying to make your pavers their home.

Two coats of sealer will be applied to the pavers - a penetrating coat and a final coat.

Once the pavers have had time to cure completely the furniture can be moved back onto the surface.
